Sullivan lake is located approx. 45 minutes north of Kamloops up the Yellowhead Hwy. You can access the lake and area via Heffley-Louis Creek Road, which takes you to the Sun Peaks Ski Resort, or the Vinsulla back road.
Sullivan or better known as "Knouff Lake" is 254.4 surface acres in size. The mean depth is 32 feet. The maximum depth is 79 feet.
Strictly rainbow fishing in the lake. Ice over December to April. Elevation is 3,768 feet.
The Lamberton Knouff Lake resort is located at the north end of the lake.
Sullivan-Knouff Lake provides a good fishery for Rainbows up to the 3 lb. class, however fish have been caught in the 12+ range. Two fish limit is on Sullivan Lake and single hook.Fly fishermen should key on the Chironomid, Mayfly, Damselfly and Caddisfly hatches that occur from May to early July. fishing the shoal areas and around the islands will bring you the most success.
Sullivan Lake is surrounded by rolling hills of pine and aspen. Located in the lake are 5 small islands covered with pine. The shoreline is clear water with a gravel bottom and extensive areas of shoal.
Nearby Lakes, Little Knouff Lake has a surface area of 99 acres is located just minutes to the north and Sullivan Lake. It is a shallow lake with a marl bottom that produces large rainbows in certain areas of the lake. Big Badger and Little Badger are located a short drive down the north side of Sullivan Lake. Martin Meadows, Spoony lakes, and Community are a few more excellent fishing lakes located in the area.
