Crown lease
The property is presently located on Crown Lease land. Crown Lease properties have been sold or (Crown Granted) on Pimainus Lake over the past years. Privacy
I found the subject property to be very private and nicely treed. There is neighbors either side, but they are separated by the forest. The property is located up Pimainus Lake road just beyond the 38 Km sign. The Forest Service road is maintained and only keep open in the winter months if there is active logging in the area. I found the road to be in very good condition, but slow in some areas to between 50 to 60 km. The drive in from the pavement takes approx. 40 to 45 minutes, and prospective buyers should take note of this. There is no hydro or phone services available at the lake.
The resort owners at Chataway Lake Resort keep the road open to their turn at Km 24, and potential buyers may have to snow mobile in the last portion of the road.
The mountain ranges provide for an excellent fall hunting region, and the winter months provide an excellent snow pack for the snowmobiliers, as you can see by the attached pictures on the droop down box on the web site.
There is another alternate route that comes in from Hwy. 8 located between Lower Nicola and Spencers Bridge. It has been a number of years since I have been on that route.
There is also a slower back mountain road for the avid fisherman that takes you past Calling and OK Lakes and brings you through the mines to the highway between Ashcroft and Logan lake.
Pimainus Lake Stats
There is no motor, gear or bait restrictions on Pimainus Lake. Pimainus Lake is mostly used for fishing, swimming, and canoeing. Pimainus lake is one of a chain of 4 lakes that make up the Pimainus Lakes. Situated on the Thompson Plateau within the north Nicola forest region, Pimainus lake is surrounded by gently rolling hills with slopes ranging from 5 to 16%. These hills are composed mainly of lodgepole pine mixed with very small amounts of Spruce.
Pimainus lake contains large number of wild rainbow in the 1 to 2 lb. range. Good populations of chironomid, damsel fly, caddis fly, dragon fly and flying ants inhabit the lake and surrounding area.
The elevation of Pimainus lake is 5002 feet. The size of Pimainus lake is 54.2 ha. or 133.9 acres. Maximum depth is 42 feet.
Area lakes include Chataway, Abbott, Antler, Billy, Dot, Echo, Gordon, Gump, Gypsum, Leroy, Rosco, Tyner, Tupper, Calling, and Big OK Lakes. This is an excellent area for the Kamloops trout ranging from 1 lb. to 5 lbs.
