From the Hwy. in Peachland turn up Princeton road and travel on the pavement 5.8km which is the start of the gravel road. Stay on this road for another 5.6km and you will come to a fork in the road. Keep right on the old Brenda Mine road for another 4km to the Silver lake turn. 1 km further down this road you will come to the Silver lake Forrestry camp. You turn left at this junction and travel about 1km around the back to reach Silver lake where the cabin is located about the middle of the lake. There is a small Forest Service site located at the end of the lake.
Silver lake has an elevation of 3,500 feet. The surface area of Silver lake is 24.7 surface acres. Silver lake has a mean depth of 56 feet. Silver lake in Region 8 has an "electric motors only" in the regulations.
Buyers should to confirm these stats if they are important to them. Silver lake are located just north of Peachland via the old Princeton Hwy. If you are coming from Merritt towards Kelowna, about 30 minutes you can exit at the Sunset Main exit for the Hatheume lake resort on the Pennask summit. Follow the Hatheume lake signs for approx. 7km and you will come to the under pass for the Connector Freeway. DO NOT GO UNDER THE FREEWAY as you are heading towards Hatheume lake. You will make a sharp right turn here and follow the forest service road in the other direction for approx. 8 km where you will come to a junction in the road. Keep in mind this is not the best of roads.
Continue on straight at this junction around Headwaters lake #2 past the entrance to the Headwaters lake fishing camp, down to km 11.4km where the payment begins. Turn left here and travel 4 km to Silver lake. Turn left at the entrance to the Forrestery camp and travel around the lake for approx. 1 km to reach the cabin.
I am not sure if this alternate route is maintained through the winter months, so access may be very limited using this route unless active logging is taking place in the area. This route will cut approx. 1 hour driving time off your trip coming in from this direction versus going down into Westbank and over to Peachland and back up to Silver lake.

  • Penticton to Silver lake is approx. 45 minutes.
  • Summerland to Silver lake is approx. 30 minutes.
  • Kamloops to Silver lake is approx. 2 hrs. 15 minutes via the Hatheume lake exit on the Pennask Summit.
  • Salmon Arm area to Silver lake is approx. 2 hours.
  • Abbotsford area is approx. 2 hrs. 15 minutes via the Hatheume lake exit.
